Jug Water Pitcher

For your consideration is a beautiful Art Deco CAMARK Pottery “Ball Water Jug”. CAMARK catalog # 438. This jug was most likely made around 1930 – 1931. This Orange Green Overflow Glaze and the Rose Green Overflow Glazes were very desirable at the time, limited in production, and are rare to find due to CAMARK changing over to mass produced single color glazes by the mid 1930’s. The glaze is considered a Matte Glaze, although I would personally say it’s more of a Semi-matte. The original cork is still attached to the stopper. It is missing some off the end but does hold the stopper snug and secure to the jug. There are some very faint darkish colored scuffs near the mid body and base. They are practically invisible over a few feet away. Other well know art potteries copied the jug by the mid 1930’s including Coors, RumRill, Redwing, and even Niloak.
